Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas

These Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas are a game-changer! Juicy, seasoned chicken strips, vibrant bell peppers, and onions cook perfectly in the air fryer in just 15 minutes. It’s an easy, mess-free way to enjoy a classic Tex-Mex favorite. Serve with warm tortillas, salsa, and your favorite toppings!


Ingredients (Serves 4)

✅ 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts (sliced into thin strips)
✅ 1 red bell pepper (sliced)
✅ 1 yellow bell pepper (sliced)
✅ 1 green bell pepper (sliced)
✅ 1 medium red onion (sliced)
✅ 2 tablespoons olive oil
✅ 1 tablespoon lime juice
✅ 1 teaspoon chili powder
✅ 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
✅ 1 teaspoon cumin
✅ ½ teaspoon garlic powder
✅ ½ teaspoon onion powder
✅ ½ teaspoon salt
✅ ¼ teaspoon black pepper
✅ ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
✅ 8 small flour or corn tortillas

Toppings (optional):
???? Shredded cheese
???? Sliced avocado or guacamole
???? Fresh cilantro
???? Extra lime wedges
???? Sour cream or Greek yogurt


Instructions

Step 1: Season the Chicken & Veggies

1️⃣ In a large bowl, combine chicken strips, bell peppers, and onions.
2️⃣ Drizzle with olive oil and lime juice.
3️⃣ Add chili powder, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne (if using). Toss until evenly coated.

Step 2: Cook in the Air Fryer

1️⃣ Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
2️⃣ Spread the chicken and veggies in an even layer in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed.
3️⃣ Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the chicken is fully cooked (165°F/74°C internal temp).

Step 3: Warm the Tortillas & Serve

1️⃣ While the fajitas cook, warm tortillas in a skillet or microwave.
2️⃣ Serve the chicken and veggies in tortillas and add your favorite toppings!


Tips for the Best Air Fryer Fajitas

✔ Slice ingredients evenly for even cooking.
✔ Don’t overcrowd the air fryer—cook in batches if needed.
✔ Marinate the chicken for extra flavor (even 30 minutes helps!).
✔ Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches 165°F.
✔ Swap the chicken for shrimp or steak for variety!
