Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Craving donuts but want a healthier, homemade version without deep frying? These Baked Vanilla Donuts are the perfect solution! They are soft, fluffy, and packed with sweet vanilla flavor, making them a great treat for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

Unlike traditional fried donuts, these oven-baked treats are lighter yet still deliciously moist. Plus, they’re super easy to make in just 25 minutes with simple ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen!

Let’s get baking! ????

Ingredients

For the Donuts:

  • 200g (1 ½ cups) all-purpose flour
  • 100g (½ cup) granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 120ml (½ cup) milk
  • 60g (¼ cup) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract

For the Vanilla Glaze:

  • 120g (1 cup) powdered sugar
  • 30ml (2 tbsp) milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prep

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Lightly grease a donut pan with butter or non-stick spray.

Step 2: Make the Batter

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined—don’t overmix!

Step 3: Bake the Donuts

  1. Spoon or pipe the batter into the donut molds, filling them about ¾ full.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  3. Let the donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Step 4: Make the Vanilla Glaze

  1. In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze, letting excess drip off.
  3. Place them back on the rack to set for 5 minutes.

Tips & Tricks for the Best Baked Vanilla Donuts

✨ Use a piping bag for perfect shapes – It helps evenly distribute the batter in the molds.

✨ Don’t overmix the batter – Overmixing makes donuts dense instead of light and fluffy.

✨ Let the glaze set for a shiny finish – Allow the donuts to sit for a few minutes after glazing.

✨ Add toppings – Sprinkle with colored sprinkles, crushed nuts, or coconut flakes for extra flavor!

✨ Make them ahead – These donuts stay fresh for 2 days at room temp or freeze for up to 2 months.
