Ingredients

For 2-3 servings, you’ll need:

For the Lo Mein:

  • 8 oz lo mein noodles (or spaghetti)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • ½ lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated

For the Sauce:

  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • ¼ cup water or beef broth

For Garnish:

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Noodles & Broccoli

  1. Boil water and cook lo mein noodles according to package instructions.
  2. In the last 2 minutes, add broccoli florets to the boiling water. Drain and set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Sauce

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, and water.

Step 3: Cook the Beef

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until browned.
  3. Stir in garlic and ginger, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 4: Combine Everything

  1. Add cooked noodles and broccoli to the pan.
  2. Pour the sauce over and toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until well coated.

Step 5: Serve & Enjoy!
