Big Mac Sliders

August 10, 2025 by [email protected] Leave a Comment

These Big Mac Sliders pack all the iconic flavors of the famous fast-food burger into a fun, shareable size. With juicy ground beef, melty cheese, tangy pickles, and special sauce layered between soft slider buns, they’re perfect for parties, game nights, or an easy family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup diced onions
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or American cheese slices)
  • 12 slider buns (Hawaiian rolls or similar)
  • ½ cup sliced dill pickles
  • ½ cup shredded lettuce

For the Special Sauce:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp sweet pickle relish
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika

For Topping:

  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Make the sauce – In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  2. Cook the beef – In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with diced onions until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Assemble sliders – Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom halves intact. Place bottom halves on a baking sheet.
  4. Layer ingredients – Spread half of the special sauce on the bottom buns. Add the cooked beef-onion mixture, followed by cheese, pickles, and shredded lettuce. Top with remaining slider bun halves.
  5. Add topping – Brush tops of buns with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  6. Bake – Cover loosely with foil and bake for 10 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 5 minutes until cheese melts and buns are golden.
  7. Serve – Slice and serve warm with extra sauce for dipping.

Tips

  • Use lean ground beef (80/20) for the juiciest sliders.
  • Don’t add lettuce before baking – For a fresh crunch, add it after baking.
  • Make ahead – Assemble without baking, refrigerate up to 1 day, then bake before serving.
  • Shortcut – Use bottled Thousand Island dressing instead of homemade sauce.
  • Even cheese melt – Layer cheese slices instead of shredded for a cleaner melt.

Variations and Substitutions

  • Turkey sliders – Use ground turkey for a lighter version.
  • Spicy twist – Add sliced jalapeños or pepper jack cheese.
  • Bacon lovers – Add crispy bacon strips for extra flavor.
  • Low-carb – Use lettuce wraps instead of buns.
  • Mini Big Mac pizza – Use flatbread instead of buns for a different presentation.

FAQs

Q: Can I make these in an air fryer?
Yes! Assemble sliders, then air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 5–6 minutes until cheese melts and buns are golden.

Q: Can I freeze Big Mac Sliders?
Yes. Freeze cooked sliders (without lettuce) in an airtight container for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven.

Q: What’s the best cheese to use?
American cheese gives the most authentic flavor, but cheddar works well too.
