Biscuits and Sausage Gravy Breakfast Pizza Recipe

January 16, 2025 by el hassan Leave a Comment

This Biscuits and Sausage Gravy Breakfast Pizza is a fun, hearty twist on two classic breakfast dishes: biscuits with sausage gravy and pizza. It’s perfect for a family brunch or a cozy breakfast. A crispy pre-baked pizza crust is topped with rich sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, and melted cheddar cheese, all baked to bubbly perfection. Crispy fried onions on top add an extra crunch!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (16 oz) breakfast sausage
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)
  • 1 pre-baked 12-inch pizza crust
  • Cooking spray
  • 6 large eggs
  • ¼ cup milk (for eggs)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Crispy fried onions for topping

Instructions:

1️⃣ Prepare the Sausage Gravy:

  • In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat, breaking it up with a spatula until fully browned (about 5-7 minutes). Drain any excess grease if necessary.
  • Sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir to coat evenly.
  • Gradually add 2 cups of milk, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens (about 10 minutes).
  • Season with black pepper to taste, then set aside.

2️⃣ Set up the Pizza Base:

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place the pre-baked pizza crust on a baking sheet. If desired, brush the surface with olive oil for added flavor.
  • Spread half of the sausage gravy evenly over the pizza crust.

3️⃣ Cook the Eggs:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and ¼ cup of milk.
  • Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium-high. Pour in the egg mixture.
  • Cook the eggs, stirring gently, until they are just set but still soft (about 5 minutes).

4️⃣ Assemble the Pizza:

  • Spread the scrambled eggs evenly over the gravy-covered crust.
  • Top with shredded cheddar cheese.

5️⃣ Bake the Pizza:

  • Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

6️⃣ Serve:

  • Sprinkle crispy fried onions on top for added crunch.
  • Slice and serve warm!

Notes:

  • Customize your pizza with extra toppings like crumbled bacon, chopped chives, or a dash of hot sauce.
  • This pizza is perfect for a cozy brunch or a satisfying breakfast for dinner.
