If you’re a fan of chocolate and peanut butter, then you’re going to love these homemade Butterfinger Balls! They are a crunchy, creamy, and chocolate-covered delight that taste just like the classic Butterfinger candy bar but in bite-sized form.

These little no-bake treats are made with crushed Butterfinger candy bars, creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and chocolate, creating the perfect sweet and salty combination. They’re easy to make, require only a few ingredients, and are great for holidays, parties, or gifting.

Let’s dive into the recipe for these irresistible Butterfinger Balls!

Ingredients (Measured in Grams)

For the Butterfinger Filling:

  • 250g creamy peanut butter
  • 200g crushed Butterfinger candy bars (about 6 full-size bars)
  • 200g powdered sugar
  • 100g unsalted butter, melted

For the Chocolate Coating:

  • 300g semi-sweet chocolate chips or melting chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening (5ml) (optional, for a smoother coating)

For Decoration (Optional):

  • 50g crushed Butterfinger pieces for garnish
  • Drizzle of melted white chocolate (50g)

Instructions

Step 1: Crush the Butterfinger Bars

  1. Place the Butterfinger candy bars in a zip-top bag and crush them into fine crumbs using a rolling pin.
  2. You can also use a food processor for a finer texture.

Step 2: Make the Peanut Butter Mixture

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine peanut butter, melted butter, and powdered sugar. Stir until well incorporated.
  2. Fold in the crushed Butterfinger candy and mix until a thick dough-like consistency forms.

Step 3: Shape the Butterfinger Balls

  1. Using a small cookie scoop or your hands, roll the mixture into 2.5cm (1-inch) balls.
  2. Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

Step 4: Melt the Chocolate

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  2. Stir in coconut oil or vegetable shortening for a smoother, shinier coating.

Step 5: Dip the Butterfinger Balls in Chocolate

  1. Using a fork or toothpick, dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  2. Let the excess chocolate drip off, then place the coated balls back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 6: Add Toppings & Chill

  1. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the tops with crushed Butterfinger pieces or drizzle with white chocolate for extra flair.
  2. Refrigerate the Butterfinger Balls for at least 20 minutes until the chocolate hardens.

Step 7: Serve & Enjoy!

  1. Once set, serve your delicious Butterfinger Balls and enjoy!

Tips & Tricks for the Best Butterfinger Balls

✅ Use Creamy Peanut Butter – Avoid natural peanut butter, as the oil separation can affect texture.

✅ Chill Before Dipping – Refrigerating the balls before dipping prevents them from falling apart in the warm chocolate.

✅ Use a Fork for Dipping – A fork helps let excess chocolate drip off, ensuring a cleaner coating.

✅ Work in Small Batches – Keep half of the balls in the fridge while dipping the others to prevent them from softening.

✅ Store Properly – Keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months.

✅ Try White Chocolate – Swap out semi-sweet chocolate for white or dark chocolate for a fun variation.

What to Serve with Butterfinger Balls?

???? Vanilla Ice Cream – Crumble a Butterfinger Ball over a scoop of ice cream for an indulgent dessert.

???? Fresh Berries – Strawberries or raspberries balance the sweetness with a tart contrast.

☕ Espresso or Cappuccino – A strong coffee complements the rich chocolate flavor.
