Cheesy Baked Onion Dip

This warm and creamy dip, packed with melty cheese and flavorful onions, is perfect for any gathering. Serve it with your favorite dippers like crackers or chips for a crowd-pleasing appetizer!


Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese or jalapeño jack cheese (for a spicy kick)
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 small red onion, finely diced (or substitute with green onions or omit)

Instructions

1. Preheat and Prep:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9-inch square baking dish or round quiche pan.

2. Combine Ingredients:

  1. In the baking dish, combine the softened cream cheese, grated cheese, mayonnaise, and diced onion.
  2. Microwave the mixture on high for 2 minutes, or until soft enough to stir together.

3. Stir and Bake:

  1. Stir the ingredients thoroughly until fully combined.
  2. Spread the mixture evenly in the dish and bake for 20 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned and bubbly.

4. Serve:

  1. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a minute.
  2. Serve warm with Wheat Thins, Fritos, or your favorite dippers.

Tips

  • Customize the Flavor: Add a pinch of garlic powder or a dash of hot sauce for extra flavor.
  • Make It Ahead: Prep the dip in the baking dish and refrigerate for up to 1 day before baking. Let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before placing in the oven.
  • Serving Size: This recipe serves about 8 people, but can easily be doubled for larger gatherings.
