Taco Night Just Got a Cheesy, Portable Makeover!
If you’re a fan of tacos and melty cheese (and who isn’t?), these Cheesy Taco Sticks will be your new favorite obsession. They take all the best parts of tacos — seasoned ground beef, gooey cheese, and soft bread — and wrap them into a warm, golden-baked stick that’s perfect for dipping, sharing, or devouring solo.
These taco sticks are great for busy weeknights, game-day spreads, or even lunchbox upgrades. They’re kid-friendly, freezer-friendly, and totally crave-worthy. Best of all? They come together in less than 30 minutes with just a few simple ingredients.
Ingredients (Makes 8 Taco Sticks)
For the Filling:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
- 2 tablespoons water
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
For the Dough:
- 1 can refrigerated pizza dough (or crescent roll dough)
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (optional)
For Dipping (Optional):
- Salsa
- Sour cream
- Guacamole
- Nacho cheese
Instructions
1. Cook the Taco Meat
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease. Add taco seasoning, water, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until thick and well-seasoned. Set aside to cool slightly.
2. Prep the Dough
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface. Cut into 8 equal rectangles.
3. Assemble the Taco Sticks
Spoon a bit of taco meat onto the center of each dough rectangle. Top with shredded cheese. Fold the sides over and pinch the seams to seal well. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
4. Brush & Bake
Mix melted butter with garlic powder. Brush over each taco stick. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffy.
5. Serve & Dip
Serve warm with your favorite dips: salsa, sour cream, or guacamole. Perfectly cheesy, crunchy, and satisfying!
