Chicken Crescent Rolls

January 15, 2025 by el hassan Leave a Comment

This Chicken Crescent Rolls recipe is perfect for a quick dinner or a special gathering! Creamy, cheesy, and packed with flavor, these crescent rolls are a hit every time. With a filling made from chicken, cream cheese, and seasonings, wrapped in buttery crescent dough, and topped with a cheesy sauce, you won’t be able to stop at just one!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 can (10 ¾ oz) cream of chicken soup (undiluted)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • ½ cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • ½ cup whipping cream
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ¼ cup finely chopped green onions
  • 2 cups cooked and chopped chicken breast
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • Cooking spray (for greasing the baking dish)

How to Make Chicken Crescent Rolls:

  1. Prepare the Cheese Sauce:
In a small saucepan, combine the cream of chicken soup, whipping cream, ½ cup shredded Swiss cheese, and ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese. Cook on medium heat until the cheeses are melted and the sauce is smooth. Set aside.
  2. Make the Filling:
In a large bowl, combine the chopped chicken, softened cream cheese, softened butter, chopped green onions, garlic powder, mustard powder, cayenne pepper, mayonnaise, and ½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well until everything is fully incorporated.
  3. Assemble the Rolls:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Spread half of the cheese sauce on the bottom of the dish.
Unroll the crescent rolls and place a tablespoon of the chicken filling on the bottom of each triangle. Roll up the crescent rolls and place them seam-side down in the baking dish. Repeat with the remaining crescent rolls.
  4. Top with Sauce:
Pour the remaining cheese sauce over the rolls, then sprinkle the remaining 1½ cups of shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  5. Bake:
Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown. The crescent rolls should be fully cooked and slightly crispy.

Storage Tips:

  • Refrigerating Leftovers:
If you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freezing:
You can also freeze these chicken crescent rolls for up to 4 months. Be sure to label them with the date before freezing.

Serving Suggestions:

These chicken crescent rolls are delicious on their own or served with a side of salad, veggies, or mashed potatoes. You can also enjoy them with some creamy garlic butter on the side for extra flavor!

Cooking Tips:

  • For an extra kick, add some chopped bell peppers or jalapeños to the filling.
  • Don’t dilute the cream of chicken soup—use it undiluted for the best creamy texture.
  • Feel free to use any type of cheese that you prefer. Mozzarella or Parmesan could work as great alternatives.
