Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a 10-inch cast-iron skillet or oven-safe pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
  4. Sift in flour, baking soda, and salt, then fold gently with a spatula.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips, reserving a few to sprinkle on top.

Step 2: Bake the Skillet Cookie

  1. Spread the dough evenly into the greased skillet and press it down gently.
  2. Sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips on top for extra melty goodness.
  3. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the center is slightly underbaked.
  4. Optional: Sprinkle with flaky sea salt for an elevated flavor.
