The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe with a Festive Twist!

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American
Keyword: chocolate chip cookies, Christmas cookies, cookies
Yield: 14 cookies
Author: Star @ The Skinny-ish Dish

Ingredients

  • 1 stick salted butter (1/2 cup, melted in the microwave for ~25 seconds)
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1⅔ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (adjust to ¼ or ½ tsp if preferred)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup Christmas sprinkles (red, green, and white; flat confetti sprinkles recommended for better texture)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Mix thoroughly. Add the egg and mix again. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  5. Add Mix-Ins: Fold in the mini chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and Christmas sprinkles using a spatula or wooden spoon.
  6. Shape the Dough: Scoop 2-tablespoon portions of dough using a cookie scooper or form mounds by hand. Place them evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake: Bake for 11 minutes. Remove from the oven and let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for 10 minutes to finish setting. For firmer cookies, bake for 12 minutes, then let them cool for 10 minutes.
  8. Cool Completely: Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool fully before serving.

Notes:

  • Adjust baking time slightly if your oven runs hotter or cooler.
  • For the best texture, use flat confetti-style sprinkles rather than harder ones.

Enjoy these festive cookies, perfect for sharing with family, friends, or Santa! ????????
