Cinnamon Apple Cake

January 6, 2025 by el hassan Leave a Comment

Celebrate the flavors of fall with this cinnamon apple cake! Packed with tender apple chunks and a swirl of cinnamon, this moist cake is a cozy dessert or snack. Enjoy it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for the ultimate treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round or square cake pan.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate large bowl, whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and milk.
  4. Add Apples: Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined. Stir in the diced apples.
  5. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool and Serve: Let the cake cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with glaze, if desired.

Tips for the Best Apple Cake

  • Choose the right apples: Use tart apples like Granny Smith or sweet ones like Honeycrisp for the best flavor.
  • Extra cinnamon swirl: Sprinkle a mix of cinnamon and sugar on top of the batter before baking for a crunchy topping.
  • Serve warm: This cake pairs perfectly with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
