May 6, 2025 by el hassan Leave a Comment

Imagine combining two of the best breakfast treats: cinnamon rolls and French toast. That’s exactly what these Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups deliver—an irresistible blend of soft, buttery cinnamon roll filling wrapped in a fluffy, golden French toast exterior. The result? An over-the-top breakfast or brunch dish that’s sweet, satisfying, and surprisingly easy to make.

Whether you’re making them for a lazy weekend breakfast, a special occasion, or just because you deserve something delicious, these roll-ups are sure to impress. The best part? They’re a fun twist on classic French toast, and you can enjoy them with syrup, powdered sugar, or even whipped cream!

???? Ingredients (Makes 6 Roll-Ups)

For the Roll-Ups:

  • 6 slices white or whole wheat bread (preferably a day or two old)
  • 100 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon (6 g)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (5 ml)
  • 2 large eggs (100 g)
  • 60 ml milk (whole or dairy-free)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (3 g)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (5 ml)
  • Pinch of salt

For the Topping:

  • 60 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk (15 ml)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (2 ml)

???? Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Bread

  1. Flatten the bread: Using a rolling pin, gently flatten each slice of bread to make it easier to roll up.
  2. Trim the edges: Cut off the crusts (optional, for a more polished look). Set aside.

Step 2: Make the Cinnamon Filling

  1. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Spread a thin, even layer of the cinnamon mixture on one side of each slice of bread.

Step 3: Roll the Bread

  1. Carefully roll each slice of bread up tightly, starting from one edge, to form a little log or roll-up. Make sure the filling stays inside.

Step 4: Make the French Toast Batter

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

Step 5: Cook the Roll-Ups

  1. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Dip each cinnamon roll-up in the egg mixture, making sure it’s fully coated.
  3. Place the coated roll-up in the skillet and cook for about 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Step 6: Drizzle with Topping

  1. While the roll-ups are cooking, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth and slightly runny.
  2. Once the roll-ups are done, drizzle the icing over them while they’re still warm for that authentic cinnamon roll experience.

Step 7: Serve

Serve immediately with your favorite toppings—extra syrup, fresh berries, whipped cream, or even a sprinkle of extra cinnamon sugar for a sweet finishing touch.
