Cinnamon Swirled Banana Bread

January 22, 2025 by el hassan Leave a Comment

This Cinnamon Swirled Banana Bread takes classic banana bread to the next level with a rich cinnamon sugar swirl running through every bite! It’s soft, moist, and packed with warm flavors—perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.

Ingredients

For the Banana Bread:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 ¼ cups)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup milk (or buttermilk for extra tenderness)

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

  • ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

1. Prep the Batter

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Add sugars, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and milk. Stir until well combined.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix!

2. Add the Cinnamon Swirl

  1. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
  2. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the batter.
  3. Pour the remaining batter on top, then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar.
  4. Use a knife or toothpick to gently swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter.

3. Bake the Bread

  1. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

4. Serve & Enjoy!

  • Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for later!

Tips & Variations

???? Healthier Option? Swap sugar for honey or maple syrup and use whole wheat flour.
???? Add Crunch? Stir in ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans.
???? Chocolate Lover? Mix in ½ cup chocolate chips.
???? Extra Moist? Use Greek yogurt or sour cream instead of butter.
