Copycat Longhorn Parmesan Crusted Chicken

This Copycat Longhorn Parmesan Crusted Chicken recipe brings the restaurant-style flavors of the famous dish right into your home! With a crispy, cheesy crust, tender chicken, and a creamy, rich sauce, this is a perfect dinner for any night. Easy to make and guaranteed to impress!


Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil (for frying)

For the Creamy Parmesan Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Chicken

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • In a shallow dish, place the flour. In a second dish, beat the eggs. In a third dish, mix together Panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning.
  • Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off the excess. Then dip in the egg and coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.

2. Fry the Chicken

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Once hot, add the chicken breasts and fry for 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy. The chicken should be cooked through, with an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and place it on a baking sheet.

3. Make the Creamy Parmesan Sauce

  • In the same skillet, melt the butter with olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning, and cook until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Bake the Chicken

  • Transfer the chicken breasts to the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes to ensure they are fully cooked and crispy on top.
  • Remove the chicken from the oven.

5. Serve

  • Spoon the creamy Parmesan sauce over each chicken breast.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
  • Serve with a side of roasted vegetables, rice, or a salad for a complete meal.
