Crispy Cheddar Chicken

This Crispy Cheddar Chicken is coated in a flavorful cheddar cheese and buttery Ritz cracker crust, making it juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside! Baked to golden perfection and topped with a rich, creamy sauce, this dish is easy, delicious, and perfect for busy weeknights.


???? Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut in half if large)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups crushed Ritz crackers (or Panko breadcrumbs)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted

For the Sauce:

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons milk

???? Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prep

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.

Step 2: Prepare the Coating

  1. In one shallow bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
  2. In another bowl, mix crushed crackers, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Place shredded cheddar cheese in a separate bowl.

Step 3: Coat the Chicken

  1. Dip each chicken breast into the cheddar cheese, pressing to adhere.
  2. Dip into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  3. Roll in the cracker mixture, pressing to stick.
  4. Place coated chicken in the baking dish and drizzle melted butter evenly over the top.

Step 4: Bake & Make the Sauce

  1. Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  2. While the chicken bakes, whisk together cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and milk in a saucepan over medium heat until warm and smooth.

Step 5: Serve & Enjoy!

  1. Drizzle the warm, creamy sauce over the crispy cheddar chicken and serve immediately.
  2. Enjoy with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or a side salad!

✔️ Use freshly shredded cheese – It melts better than pre-shredded!
