Ingredients (Serves 6-8)

For the Beef:

  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for searing, optional)

For the Broth & Gravy:

  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (295g/10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of celery soup)
  • 1 packet (28g) onion soup mix (Lipton or similar)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp dried thyme (optional, for extra flavor)

For the Noodles:

  • 340g (12 oz) egg noodles
  • ½ cup heavy cream (for extra richness, optional)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for thickening, if needed)

For Serving (Optional):

  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Mashed potatoes or crusty bread

How to Make Crockpot Beef and Noodles

Step 1: Sear the Beef (Optional for Extra Flavor)

  1. Season the chuck roast with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. (This step is optional but adds extra depth of flavor!)

Step 2: Slow Cook the Beef

  1. Place the beef in the slow cooker.
  2. Pour in the beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours (or HIGH for 4-5 hours) until the beef is fall-apart tender.

Step 3: Shred the Beef & Add Noodles

  1. Remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks.
  2. Return the shredded beef to the crockpot.
  3. Add the egg noodles and stir. Cover and cook on HIGH for 15-20 minutes until the noodles are soft.

Step 4: Thicken the Gravy (If Needed)

  • If you prefer a thicker gravy, mix 2 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp water, then stir it into the slow cooker. Let cook for 5 more minutes.
  • For an extra creamy texture, stir in ½ cup heavy cream before serving.

Step 5: Serve & Enjoy!

✔️ Garnish with fresh parsley.
✔️ Serve as-is or over mashed potatoes for extra heartiness!

Tips for the Best Crockpot Beef and Noodles

✅ Use Chuck Roast – It becomes buttery-tender when slow-cooked.
✅ Sear for More Flavor – Browning the beef locks in juices and adds depth.

✅ Stir Occasionally – This ensures the noodles cook evenly.
✅ Make It Creamy! – Add heavy cream for a silky, rich texture.
