Easy Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

December 24, 2024 by el hassan Leave a Comment

This easy-to-make Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is moist, fluffy, and loaded with gooey chocolate chips in every bite. A perfect way to use overripe bananas for a comforting treat! ????????

Ingredients (Serves 10-12)

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (or plain Greek yogurt)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, plus extra for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the Bananas:
In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth using a fork or potato masher.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients:
Stir in the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Add Sour Cream and Chocolate Chips:
Fold in the sour cream and chocolate chips, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Transfer to Pan:
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top for a pretty finish.
  7. Bake:
Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (a few moist crumbs are okay).
  8. Cool and Serve:
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!

Tips

  • For an extra flavor boost, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg into the batter.
  • Use overripe bananas with brown spots for the sweetest, most flavorful bread.
