Ingredients (Serves 4-6)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 450g (1 lb) ground beef (or Italian sausage)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp salt & black pepper
  • 1 can (400g/14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (400g/14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1½ cups (360ml) beef broth
  • 225g (8 oz) uncooked lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • ½ cup (120g) ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup (100g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish

How to Make Stovetop Lasagna Skillet

Step 1: Brown the Meat

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef (or sausage) and cook until browned, breaking it apart.
  3. Stir in onion, garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper; cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.

Step 2: Make the Sauce

  1. Pour in crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, and beef broth. Stir well.

Step 3: Add the Pasta

  1. Stir in broken lasagna noodles and submerge them in the sauce.
  2. Cover and simmer on medium-low heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 4: Add Cheese & Serve

  1. Once the noodles are tender, dollop ricotta cheese on top.
  2. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  3. Cover for 2 minutes until cheese melts.
  4. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve warm!
