Fried Cheese Stuffed Doritos

December 28, 2024 by el hassan Leave a Comment

These Fried Cheese Stuffed Doritos are a crunchy, cheesy snack that’s perfect for parties, game days, or when you’re craving something indulgent. With gooey melted cheese stuffed inside a flavorful Dorito crust, this treat is as fun to make as it is to eat. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce for a crowd-pleasing appetizer!

Ingredients:

  • 12 mozzarella cheese sticks (or block mozzarella cut into stick shapes)
  • 1 large bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos (or flavor of your choice)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Optional Dipping Sauces:

  • Marinara sauce
  • Ranch dressing
  • Spicy sriracha mayo

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dorito Crust: Place the Doritos in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed. Transfer to a shallow bowl.
  2. Set Up the Breading Station: Place the flour in one shallow bowl. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
  3. Coat the Cheese Sticks: Roll each cheese stick in flour, then dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated. Roll the cheese stick in the crushed Doritos, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat the process for an extra thick coating.
  4. Chill: Place the coated cheese sticks on a plate or baking sheet and freeze for 15-20 minutes to prevent the cheese from oozing out during frying.
  5. Fry: Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Fry the cheese sticks in batches for 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve: Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces and enjoy immediately.
