Fried Potatoes and Onions Recipe

Crispy, golden fried potatoes with caramelized onions make the perfect comforting side dish. Simple, flavorful, and ready in no time, this dish is a must-try for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!


Ingredients:

  • 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the potatoes: Slice the peeled potatoes into thin rounds. Rinse under cold water to remove excess starch, then pat dry.
  2. Heat the skillet: In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.
  3. Cook the potatoes: Add the potatoes to the skillet in an even layer. Let them cook undisturbed for 5–7 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
  4. Add the onions: Flip the potatoes, then add the sliced onions to the skillet. Sprinkle with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Combine and caramelize: Cook for another 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender and the onions are caramelized. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  6. Serve: Serve hot as a side dish or top with eggs, cheese, or herbs for added flavor.
