Garlic Parmesan Pasta (One Pot!)

This creamy Garlic Parmesan Pasta is a quick and easy one-pot meal perfect for busy nights! Angel hair pasta cooks in a buttery garlic cream sauce in just 10 minutes, creating a rich and flavorful dish that’s sure to satisfy.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • 3 tbsp butter (divided)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 8 oz angel hair pasta
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish
  • Optional: ¼ tsp each of onion powder, oregano, thyme, parsley, and black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Grate the Parmesan cheese and set it aside to reach room temperature.
  2. Cook Garlic: Melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat in a large skillet. Add minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add Liquid: Pour in chicken broth and optional seasonings, then slowly stir in the milk. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Cook Pasta: Add the angel hair pasta. You can break the noodles for easier handling or use tongs to gently press and twist them into the skillet as they soften.
  5. Simmer: Let the pasta cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Reduce the heat to low.
  6. Incorporate Butter and Cheese: Stir in the remaining 1 tbsp butter. Gradually add the Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the sauce is smooth and creamy. The sauce may appear thin at first but will thicken as it stands and as the pasta absorbs more liquid.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot. Pair with garlic bread, chicken, shrimp, or roasted veggies for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Use high-quality Parmesan cheese and shred it yourself for the best melting and flavor. Avoid pre-shredded cheese, as it doesn’t melt as smoothly.
  • Ensure the heat is off before adding the cheese to prevent grainy sauce.
  • This dish can be customized with added proteins like chicken or shrimp and pairs well with roasted vegetables or garlic bread.
