Garlic Shrimp Gratin is a rich, creamy, and cheesy seafood dish that’s bursting with flavor. Juicy shrimp are baked in a garlic-infused, buttery cream sauce and topped with golden, crispy breadcrumbs and melty cheese. It’s perfect for a quick dinner, special occasion, or an indulgent appetizer!

Ingredients (Serves 4-6)

For the Shrimp Mixture

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup white wine (or chicken broth)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

For the Topping

  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prep

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.

Step 2: Cook the Shrimp

  1. Heat butter in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the shrimp, cooking for 2-3 minutes until slightly pink.
  4. Pour in the white wine, letting it simmer for 1-2 minutes to reduce.
  5. Add heavy cream, salt, black pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes.
  6. Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in parsley.

Step 3: Assemble the Gratin

  1. Transfer the shrimp and sauce to the baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  3. In a small bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs with olive oil or melted butter.
  4. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the cheese layer.

Step 4: Bake & Serve

  1. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  2. For an extra crispy top, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end.
  3. Garnish with extra parsley and serve warm!
