Hot Fudge Brownie Bread

If a brownie and a slice of chocolate cake had a baby, it would be this Hot Fudge Brownie Bread — ultra-moist, gooey in the center, with a crackly top and deep, rich chocolate flavor in every bite. This quick bread is a chocolate lover’s dream come true. It’s decadent, easy to make, and perfect served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of extra fudge sauce.

Whether you’re baking for a party, brunch, or just your own sweet cravings, this brownie bread delivers bakery-style results with minimal effort — no mixer required!

🛒 Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ⅓ cup hot fudge sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
  • ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Mix dry ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Combine wet ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla, and whisk until glossy and thick.
  4. Add sour cream and fudge sauce
Stir in the sour cream and hot fudge sauce until combined.
  5. Combine wet and dry
Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and fold gently with a spatula until just combined. Don’t overmix.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips
Stir in the chocolate chips or chunks.
  7. Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
  8. Cool and serve
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then remove and transfer to a wire rack. Serve warm with a drizzle of hot fudge or a scoop of ice cream.

✅ Tips & Tricks

  • Fudgier texture? Slightly underbake it and let it rest — it will set as it cools.
  • Make it extra gooey: Add a swirl of hot fudge on top before baking.
  • Storage: Wrap tightly and store at room temp for 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
  • Freeze it: Slice and freeze individually for a quick dessert later!
  • Add-ins: Stir in chopped walnuts, peanut butter chips, or a splash of espresso for depth.
