If you love meals that hit every taste bud — sweet, spicy, savory, and tangy — then you are going to fall in love with this Hot Honey Chicken Bowl. Tender, juicy chicken bites are tossed in a sticky hot honey glaze and served over fluffy rice with crisp veggies for a meal that’s fast, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying.

This dish is the perfect balance of comfort food and healthy eating — giving you the full satisfaction of a hearty meal without the heaviness. It’s also highly customizable: throw in your favorite veggies, switch up the grains, or make it as spicy (or mild) as you like.

Ready to add a little sweet heat to your life? Let’s dive in!

Ingredients (Measured in Grams)

For the Chicken:

  • 500g boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, diced
  • 15g olive oil
  • 5g garlic powder
  • 5g onion powder
  • 5g smoked paprika
  • 5g salt
  • 2g black pepper
  • 10g cornstarch (optional for crispier chicken)

For the Hot Honey Sauce:

  • 80g honey
  • 30g hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 10g soy sauce
  • 10g apple cider vinegar
  • 3g red pepper flakes (optional, for extra spice)

For the Rice Bowl:

  • 200g cooked jasmine rice or basmati rice
  • 100g cucumber, diced
  • 80g shredded carrots
  • 50g red cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 30g green onions, sliced
  • 20g sesame seeds (optional)

Garnishing:

  • Fresh cilantro or parsley
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

1. Prepare the Rice

  • Cook the rice according to package instructions and set aside, covered to keep warm.

2. Cook the Chicken

  • Toss the diced chicken with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and cornstarch (if using) until evenly coated.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the chicken and cook for 5–6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.

3. Make the Hot Honey Sauce

  • While the chicken cooks, whisk together the honey, hot sauce, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, lower the heat and pour the sauce over the chicken.
  • Stir and cook for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken beautifully.

4. Assemble the Bowls

  • In each bowl, add a generous scoop of rice.
  • Top with hot honey chicken, cucumber, shredded carrots, and red cabbage.
  • Sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds.

5. Garnish and Serve

  • Finish with a squeeze of lime juice and fresh cilantro.
  • Serve immediately for maximum hot-honey goodness!
