Hot Honey Chicken Bowls

January 5, 2025 by el hassan Leave a Comment

Bold, flavorful, and slightly spicy! These Hot Honey Chicken Bowls feature tender, crispy chicken coated in a sticky-sweet hot honey glaze. Served over a bed of rice with crunchy veggies and creamy avocado, this dish is a vibrant mix of heat and comfort. Perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep!

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cubed)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup hot honey (or mix 1/4 cup honey + 2 tbsp hot sauce)
  • 2 cups cooked white or brown rice

Optional Add-ons: Sliced avocado, shredded carrots, cucumber ribbons, or sesame seeds for garnish.

Juicy chicken with a spicy-sweet glaze pairs perfectly with the soft rice and fresh, crunchy toppings.

Instructions

  1. Prep the Chicken: Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Dredge the pieces in flour to lightly coat.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat a skillet with 2 tbsp oil over medium heat. Cook the chicken until golden brown and fully cooked, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  3. Make the Glaze: In a small saucepan, heat hot honey until warm and slightly thickened.
  4. Assemble Bowls: Divide cooked rice into bowls. Top with chicken, drizzle with hot honey glaze, and add veggies and avocado slices.
  5. Garnish: Sprinkle with sesame seeds or fresh herbs and serve immediately.

Tips for Success

  • For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs instead of flour.
  • Adjust the spice level of your hot honey by increasing or reducing the hot sauce.
  • These bowls are great for meal prep—store components separately to maintain freshness.
