Italian Crescent Casserole

January 9, 2025 by el hassan Leave a Comment

This Italian crescent casserole is a quick and cheesy comfort food favorite! Layers of savory ground beef, zesty marinara, and gooey melted cheese are topped with a golden, buttery crescent roll crust. Perfect for busy weeknights or a simple family dinner everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the Beef: In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat, then stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Assemble the Casserole: In a greased 9-inch pie dish or square baking dish, layer the beef mixture evenly. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top.
  4. Add the Crescent Rolls: Unroll the crescent roll dough and lay it over the filling, sealing any seams. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
  5. Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crescent roll crust is golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Serve: Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Slice into portions and enjoy!

Tips for the Best Italian Crescent Casserole

  • Add Veggies: Mix in sautéed onions, bell peppers, or mushrooms with the beef for added flavor.
  • Cheese Variety: Use provolone or a blend of Italian cheeses for extra richness.
  • Spice It Up: Add red pepper flakes or use spicy marinara for a kick of heat.
  • Make Ahead: Assemble the casserole ahead of time and bake just before serving.
