One Hour Rolls

December 28, 2024 by el hassan Leave a Comment

These One Hour Rolls are soft, fluffy, and perfect for any meal. With a quick rise time and simple ingredients, you can have homemade dinner rolls fresh from the oven in just one hour. Whether for weeknight dinners, holidays, or special occasions, these rolls are a crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 to 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • Additional melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions:

  1. Activate the Yeast: In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Make the Dough: Add the melted butter, salt, and 2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until combined, then gradually add more flour, 1/4 cup at a time, until the dough is soft and slightly sticky but pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
  3. Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Shape the Rolls: Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape them into balls. Place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish or on a baking sheet. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place for 20-25 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  5. Bake the Rolls: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Brush with Butter: Remove from the oven and brush the tops with melted butter for a soft, flavorful finish. Serve warm.
