Why You’ll Love This Recipe

✔ Soft & Fluffy – Perfectly tender texture.
✔ Easy to Make – Simple ingredients, no complicated techniques.
✔ Perfectly Sweet – Just the right balance of vanilla and sugar.
✔ Customizable – Pair with any frosting or toppings you love!

Ingredients (Makes 12 Cupcakes)

For the Vanilla Cupcakes:

  • Unsalted butter (softened) – 115g (½ cup)
  • Granulated sugar – 150g (¾ cup)
  • Large eggs – 2
  • Vanilla extract – 2 tsp
  • All-purpose flour – 190g (1½ cups)
  • Baking powder – 1½ tsp
  • Salt – ¼ tsp
  • Whole milk – 120ml (½ cup)

For the Vanilla Buttercream Frosting:

  • Unsalted butter (softened) – 170g (¾ cup)
  • Powdered sugar – 300g (2½ cups)
  • Vanilla extract – 2 tsp
  • Heavy cream (or milk) – 2 tbsp
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Cupcake Batter

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar with a hand mixer until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry mixture. Mix just until combined—don’t overmix!

Step 2: Bake the Cupcakes

  1. Divide the batter evenly into 12 cupcake liners, filling each about ⅔ full.
  2. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Let the cupcakes cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 3: Prepare the Vanilla Buttercream Frosting

  1. In a large bowl, beat butter until creamy (about 1-2 minutes).
  2. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until combined.
  3. Add vanilla extract, heavy cream, and salt, then beat on high speed until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  4. If the frosting is too thick, add a little more cream. If too thin, add more powdered sugar.

Step 4: Frost & Decorate

  1. Transfer the frosting to a piping bag with your favorite tip.
  2. Pipe swirls of frosting onto the cooled cupcakes.
  3. Decorate with sprinkles, fresh berries, or edible glitter for an elegant touch!

Tips & Tricks for the Best Vanilla Cupcakes

???? Use Room Temperature Ingredients – This ensures a smooth batter and even baking.

???? Don’t Overmix the Batter – Overmixing can lead to dense cupcakes instead of fluffy ones.

???? Check for Doneness Early – Every oven is different, so start checking at 18 minutes.

???? Customize Your Cupcakes – Try adding chocolate chips, lemon zest, or almond extract for a twist!

Storage & Make-Ahead Tips

???? Store: Keep cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to 5 days.

❄️ Freeze: Unfrosted cupcakes can be frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before frosting.

Serving Ideas

???? Berry Bliss – Top with fresh strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries for a fruity touch.

???? Chocolate Drizzle – Drizzle melted chocolate or caramel over the frosting.

☕ Coffee Pairing – Serve with a latte or cappuccino for the perfect treat!
