Description

A pair of Swedish neoclassical style painted wood Klismos side chairs from the 20th century, with carved dĂ©cor, rosettes, saber legs, low seats and simple black upholstery. Created in Sweden during the 20th century, this pair of Klismos chairs finds its inspiration in 5th century Greece. Each chair features a concave back perfectly cradling the human body, carved and upholstered with a basic black fabric in fair condition. This back is flowing into the hind legs in a graceful movement. The low seat (16.5″ high) is upholstered with the same fabric and is resting on a carved apron also accented with delicate rosettes. The chair is raised on four saber legs with fluted accentuation. The ensemble is painted in a soft color typical of the Swedish taste for light palettes aiming at brightening the rooms during the long and dark Scandinavian winters. With their elegant lines and delicately carved dĂ©cor, this pair of Swedish Neoclassical style Klismos chairs from the 20th century will make for a wonderful addition to any home, placed in a living room, bedroom or foyer.
