Sausage Muffins

December 28, 2024 by el hassan Leave a Comment

These Sausage Muffins are a savory, protein-packed breakfast option that’s perfect for busy mornings, meal prep, or brunch gatherings. Made with ground sausage, cheese, and fluffy biscuit batter, they’re quick to prepare and easy to customize. Serve them on their own or with a side of fruit for a complete meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease or line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. Cook the Sausage: In a skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
  3. Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir in the shredded cheese.
  4. Prepare the Batter: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and eggs. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Gently fold in the cooked sausage.
  5. Fill the Muffin Tins: Scoop the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 3/4 full.
  6. Bake: Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  7. Serve: Let the muffins cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, or store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
