Slow Cooker Copycat Honey Baked Ham

December 24, 2024 by el hassan Leave a Comment

A tender, juicy spiral ham coated in a sweet and sticky honey glaze, just like the famous Honey Baked Ham—but even easier to make in your slow cooker!

Ingredients (Serves 8-10)

  • 1 spiral-cut ham, 7-8 lbs.
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

For the Glaze (Optional Caramelized Topping)

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ham:
    • Place the spiral ham in your slow cooker, flat side down.
  2. Mix the Glaze:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, brown sugar, pineapple juice, Dijon mustard, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
  3. Coat the Ham:
    • Pour the glaze evenly over the ham, making sure it seeps between the slices.
  4. Cook in the Slow Cooker:
    • Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until heated through. Baste the ham with the juices every hour for extra flavor.
  5. Optional Caramelized Topping:
    • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Transfer the ham to a baking dish and brush with the caramelized glaze mixture (brown sugar, honey, and melted butter). Broil for 3-5 minutes or until the glaze is bubbly and caramelized.
  6. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Let the ham rest for 10 minutes before serving. Drizzle some of the slow cooker juices over the slices for added flavor.

Tips

  • Use a Liner: A slow cooker liner makes cleanup easy.
  • Leftovers: Use leftover ham in sandwiches, soups, or breakfast casseroles.
  • Glaze Variations: Add a splash of orange juice or maple syrup for a flavor twist.

Serving Suggestion

Pair with creamy mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh green salad for a complete holiday meal.
