If you’ve ever debated between having spaghetti or garlic bread for dinner — why not have both? These Spaghetti Garlic Bread Bowls are a cozy, cheesy, over-the-top way to serve up pasta in a buttery, golden, crispy bread bowl. They’re perfect for family dinners, parties, or any time you want to serve something fun and unforgettable.
Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and stuffed with saucy spaghetti and melted cheese… this is the kind of meal that gets people talking (and coming back for seconds).
Ingredients (Serves 4)
For the Garlic Bread Bowls:
- 4 small round sourdough or Italian bread rolls (about 6 inches wide)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for lining the bowls)
For the Spaghetti:
- 8 oz spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Extra mozzarella for topping (optional)
Instructions
1. Cook the Spaghetti
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
2. Make the Sauce
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until soft, about 3–4 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more. Stir in the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in cooked spaghetti and Parmesan cheese until well combined.
3. Prepare the Bread Bowls
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the tops off the bread rolls and hollow out the centers, leaving about ½ inch around the edges to form bowls.
In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Brush the inside and outside of each bread bowl with the garlic butter mixture.
Sprinkle a layer of shredded mozzarella in the bottom of each bread bowl to help prevent sogginess.
4. Fill & Bake
Fill each bread bowl with the spaghetti mixture. Top with extra mozzarella cheese if desired.
Place filled bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy and golden.
5. Serve
Garnish with extra parsley or Parmesan and serve hot. Eat with a fork — or get wild and tear into the bowl itself!

A Little Extra From Me 🍝🧄🥖
Spaghetti Garlic Bread Bowls are the kind of recipe that makes people light up. I first made this for a movie night, and it turned into a full-blown tradition. There’s something about scooping pasta from a buttery bread bowl that just feels cozy, fun, and indulgent — all at once.
Want to impress guests or kids? Serve these on a big platter with a Caesar salad and watch the magic happen. Leftovers? Wrap them in foil and reheat in the oven — they’ll be just as crispy the next day!
