Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread

This Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread is a moist, buttery treat loaded with crunchy pecans and a rich caramel-like sweetness. Perfect for holidays, potlucks, or an afternoon coffee break, this easy-to-make bread will become a favorite in no time. Every slice is a taste of Southern comfort!


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish or a loaf pan.
  2. Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and buttermilk.
  3. Combine the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  4. Fold in Pecans: Gently fold in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed.
  5. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature, with a pat of butter or a drizzle of honey for extra indulgence.
