Wendy’s Chili Copycat Recipe

Enjoy the rich, hearty flavors of Wendy’s famous chili at home! Packed with ground beef, beans, and a flavorful blend of spices, this comforting dish is perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep.


Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15 oz) can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Brown the beef: In a large pot, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it into crumbles. Drain excess fat.
  2. Cook the vegetables: Add onion and bell pepper to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Combine ingredients: Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, pinto beans, and water. Add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Simmer: Reduce heat to low, cover, and let the chili simmer for 1–1.5 hours, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  5. Serve: Serve hot with crackers, shredded cheese, or sour cream for a classic Wendy’s chili experience.
